Diehard fans
might have noticed that their favorite racing website
was down for a few hours yesterday. It seems a
"small" fire was to blame. Thankfully, our city's
fire teams managed to get everything under control very

WHAT A BUSY WEEKEND IT WAS
FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHERS

Let's
start by playing catch-up. Bill Robertson was
on track last Thursday night at the OBCC Autocross.

On Friday night, Brad
Macaulay ventured up to the Street Drags at Thunder
Mountain Raceway. This is THE ONLY local place
to drag race your street car.

Cart racing in Vernon! Bill Robertson got some
great photos and had an awesome time.

In other news, we
must give a huge cheer to
Jasper Blake of Victoria, BC - he won
this year's Penticton IronMan!
Belinda Granger from Australia was
the first woman home. Just a side note here.
There was just under an hour difference between the
men and the woman. That is some amazing
racing.

APPLE TRIATHLON PHOTOS

It was
a perfect day for racing. Our famous Okanagan
sunshine did not let up and I am sure the athletes
were very glad that there were lots of water stations!
As with most local
racing events, they would be nothing without the
great organizers and the huge amount of dedicated
volunteers. You guys deserve a pat on the
back.

Ok,
it's the day after the
OBCC / www.717-mrtg.ca
Autocross and the photos are posted! I hope
this efficiency continues for the remainder of the
series. Unfortunately, that's not to far off
now. If you have been planning to try
autocross or just want to watch, be at the McCurdy
Center Mall next Thursday. Racers need to
arrive before 5:30 to sign up!

SPORTBIKE WEST SET TO ROCK

Motorcyclists don't forget that SBW06 is on the
weekend of August 18th in Oliver, BC,
just a few hours from anywhere.

BUSY WEEKEND FOR TRIATHLETES

The
streets and waters around Kelowna will be full of
amazing athletes this weekend. Local law firm
Pushor
Mitchell will be the title sponsor of this
year's
Kelowna 2006 Apple Triathlon.
This is a major event
for triathletes and attracts competitors from all
over North America.
There will be road
closures in effect, so check the website above for
more information.

Car Club /
www.717-mrtg.ca 2006 Autocross season. Jim
McLaughlin is the current points leader, followed
closely by Brian Hemming. Last year's champion
Matt Scaife is sitting in 7th. A lot can happen in
6 races, so come on down and see all the action tonight

FANTASTIC FOUR
 |
|
There will
be an amazing race this weekend in Kelowna. From Friday
the 4th to Sunday the 6th, Fresh Air Experience
will be hosting the "Fantastic Four". Racing
starts on Friday evening with a hill climb along
Postill Lake Road. There is about a 370 meter
change in altitude over 6km. That's a pretty steep
start.
On Saturday, there is a 12 km road race in the hills of
South
East Kelowna. There are two racing events
planned for Sunday.
The criterium will take place in downtown
Kelowna. The weekend will wrap up with a Time
Trial along Old Vernon Road.
