SOVEREIGN LAKE BIATHLON

Sovereign Lake played host to the very unique sport of Biathlon last weekend.  Markus was on hand to get some shots (no pun intended).  You can find them and his brief but informative history of the sport, by clicking here.

STILL LOOKING FOR THAT PERFECT GIFT?

It's almost Christmas and you're having a hard time to find something special for your loved one that has everything?  We have the solution.  Want to add a little excitement into their stocking and maybe teach them a few new tricks?  No, no. We're not thinking of a session with Dr. Ruth, but rather some time behind the wheel of a racecar!

You are very lucky as there are a lot of local and BC based companies to choose from.  Here are few for you to take a look at:

For CASCAR fans, how about Okanagan Racing Experience based out of Penticton, BC. or if Vernon is closer to home, you might want to try Thrill of a Lifetime

Don't live in the Okanagan, that's ok too, because Proformance Racing can help you.

If Driving Schools are more to your liking and your loved one already has been blessed with a BMW from Santa, you might want to consider the BMW Car Club of BC . If Santa didn't dish out the fancy car, how about the Sports Car Club of BC or Sidorov Precision Driver Training.

All in all the racer in your family will be stoked!  Have a Merry Christmas!

As always, UP2SPEED gives us some things to ponder about.  Markus' article delves into racing from an amateur (read non factory sponsored) racers perspective.  How expensive does it really have to be to get involved in a racing event.  This month's column can be found by clicking here.

LOCAL RACER WON'T LET US FORGET SUMMER

Not only is Marcel Irnie a local, but he is one very talented all round racer.  Marcel, who finished 3rd overall in this year's OBCC / 717-MRTG Autocross Series, has now set his sights on street bike racing.  He spent the last part of this year practicing in Washington state. He has sent us this link to his video clip.  VIDEO1
