Monday. January 30th Heads Up Folks! TSD rally season is starting in three weeks with the Thunderbird Rally. Racing is from Merritt to Vernon and back. Monday, January 23rd Markus just came back with the first Automobile Racing photos of the new year.  Click here for more info. Friday, January 20th If you are looking for something a bit warmer and indoors, but still with a checkered flag, try radio-controlled racing! Racing is on Sunday in the Lakewood Mall, click on SpeedyBones for more information. www.carsonice.ca reports that ice racing is on this weekend! Warm up and practice starts at 8:30, racing at 11:00 and runs until about 3:30. Check back for pictures if you are not there in person! Monday, January 16th The Sled Racing photos are now ready! Click Here. Ok, so the I have to put at least one photo up to tease you.  We are still busy putting the final touches to our winter section, but hope to have the photos up shortly. We have also received a few requests to repost the pictures from the World Cup at Sovereign Lake (2005).  We will do that as well. Thursday, January 12th www.carsonice.ca reports that ice racing is cancelled this weekend due to unseasonably warm temperatures. Cross your fingers Jan 21-22 is still on. More details to come. Rick Swan took some fantastic photos this past weekend at the 15th Annual Jack Gawthorne Memorial Dog Sled Races. We will be posting these shortly. Monday, January 9th I am not sure if any of you are following the annual Dakar rally.  This is one really tough race and not without it's share of pain and grief.  Today, Andy Caldecott (AUS and on a KTM) had a major crash in stage 9 and died. "Andy Caldecott, 41 years of age, was competing in his third Dakar. He had finished 6th of the 2005 edition and was currently 10th overall of this edition after having won stage 5 between Nador and Er-Rachidia in Morocco. To his family that was immediately contacted, the Dakar wishes to express its sincere condolences. " For more info about the Dakar race, click here.
