THEY MADE IT
HOME!
It
was good to have Markus and Arno back safe
and sound. After a few beverages they
were all warm and toasty again. It was
then that the stories came out.

subdued overview of this years Totem TSD!

BREAKING NEWS!
I received the dreaded phone call last evening.
Well, actually two phone calls that got my
attention. First, a family member called in to
say that they had seen the brown Mazda MPV on a tow
truck, just around the corner from their house.
I immediately rushed out to see what was going on,
but found nothing. Mmmmm, I wonder if they
were just trying to get my blood pressure up.
A 1/2 hour later I got a call from Markus - he was
alive and well. The car was fine and except
for some loose lug nuts, all was going well.
About an hour later Markus called again - they were
out of the race! It appears they were foiled
by a rear heater hose. Apparently it decided
after all these years, that it was finally time to
take a leak. Well, no coolant is not a happy
thing for the little engine, or two die hard rally
drivers! As of this update, the team is safe
and sound in Williams Lake. The plan is to
find a good watering hole to cool their tempers!
After a good nap, they will try to find the local
Canadian Tire and make their way back tomorrow.

WHERE HAVE
YOU BEEN?
We have been getting a lot of emails
with that very question. Well, as
much as I would like to say we have been
on some secret spy mission, I can't.
'Cause I would have ...
All kidding
aside, as you can see from the event
highlights above, the TOTEM TSD is
running this weekend. Staunch
followers will also know that our very
own
UP2SPEED columnist, Markus Heinrichs
has been participating in a few of these
events. Well, Markus was without a
vehicle for this last race of the year
and it just so happened we had a 1989
Mazda MPV waiting to go to the dump.
See where this is heading? How
could we say no. Stay tuned for
all the details!

Last
weekend's
SIKA
kart racing brought us some mixed feelings.
First and most important was excitement.
Do those karts go. 94 km/h on the
short straight - thanks to the ever accurate
radar gun of the
Vernon
RCMP. It was great to
have them come out and enjoy the event.
Thank you.
There was also sadness, as this event marked
the last of this summer's auto racing.
Bill Robertson sent us these pictures from
Saturday and Sunday's racing.
