AUTOCROSS PHOTOS

It was
another great evening of autocross at the McCurdy
Corner Mall. The mall is a one stop evening of
entertainment for the whole family. Where else
can you catch great racing action, enjoy good food (Quiznos,
Triple O's, Freddies Brew Pub), or if the kids get
bored they can enjoy bowling, pc games and of course
the Grand Ten Movie theatres. Let's not forget
about the Brick - the perfect place to find that
performance part for your home.
So come on down for some great family fun.

Boy, did I loose a day today.
It was not until Bill called at 6:30pm asking
"politely" of my whereabouts that I found out it was
Wednesday night. Now, it could be that my son
is out of school and we were having too much fun, or maybe it was the fantastic
dinner at Nishi's the night before, but in no way
did I think it was Wednesday. I rushed to get
my trusty camera ready and jumped in the car and I
was able to catch the last round of racing for
the night. Well at least I got my photos up
first.

JUNE 14th
AUTOCROSS ACTION |
|
It was one of those enjoyable
evenings the Okanagan is famous for. The hint
of rain did not materialize and all that was left
was good friends and great racing!
Both Bill and I were there to take some photos.
But along the way I got chatting and handed the
camera off to a few pros to get their views of the
track.

happening this Wednesday night, but I did manage to

tickets and apparently I did not win ...)

busy week for all the autocross racers. On
Thursday night there was some great action in
Kelowna and then on Sunday all the fun continued in
Vernon.

As of now, the BMX practice night is still a go.
But check in with the organizers just to make sure.

of the June 3rd qualifier.

KELOWNA BMX
TRACK CLOSED |
Basically, if you LOVE it, don't use it!
Local BMX club president has this to say:
Hello All,
THE TRACK IS CLOSED !
Please, if you or anyone you know wants
to ride the track, don't do it.
With the extreme amount of water that
has fallen, any activity on the
dirt portion of the track will simply
destroy it. We have hoses slowly
draining
the water away, but we still need
several days to mop up and repair the
weather damage.
Please spread the word to stay off
the track until it dries.
Wednesday evening will be a good time to
catch up on your homework.
June 6th racing will be re-scheduled to
a more dryer date. Hopefully see
everyone at Monday's practice.

co-driver Jennifer Daly (both from Kelowna, BC) had
to over come numerous difficulties during this years
running of the Rocky Mountain Rally.

KELOWNA HOSTS
PROVINCIAL BMX RACES |
|
After
Saturday's very busy day of racing. First in
Penticton
and then the
Race for Life in Kelowna that afternoon,
you would expect that the racers and organizers
would want to take Sunday off. Not so.
Instead, the Kelowna BMX club went whole hog and
hosted a Provincial Race. They did an amazing
job.

The
Kelowna BMX
club joined forces with the
ABA
and did it's part to help those diagnosed with
Leukemia.
On Saturday they held a special afternoon of racing
and with all thier work this far, they had collected
over 2600 dollars for the worthy cause. Great
work guys and gals!

editor Markus Heinrichs. After a two month
hiatus mmm, lets call it a "vacation", he is
back with his UP2SPEED column. This month he
seems to be getting a little sentimental. Does

Before we get to giving Matt
the praise he deserves, we must correct a a slip up
we made last week. With all the fun and
excitement of the
Knox
Mountain Hillclimb, we forgot to put up
one weeks worth of photos, we corrected that below,
but failed to mention that last week was Zac's
second win in a row! That is an amazing feat
considering the caliber of the racing this year.
Ok, now that Zac is smiling again, Matt's very close
win this week ruined any chance of Zac becoming the
first person this year to win three weeks in a row.
Matt and his new car are finally getting to know one
another. Are we beginning to see a comeback
from the master? We hope so!
One person who seems to be faster than Matt is Cal
Maier. Before I could start working on today's
page, he had his photos up on the server. Ahh
those Canon Pro's know all the secrets.

Yes, there was racing on Monday night at the Kelowna
BMX track. A few weeks ago they were rained
out, so instead of a practice night this week,
racing was in full swing. William was on hand
