Okanagan British Car Club & Kelowna Corvette Club
combine to host CACC Regional Autocross
The Okanagan British Car Club & the Kelowna Corvette
Club worked together to host the CACC (Confederation of
Autosport Car Clubs) BC Regional Autocross Event #3 on
Sunday at the Vernon Multiplex. This autocross series
has for the past decade been hosted in Delta at the
Boundary Bay Airport, by a variety of different clubs.
This year with the popularity that autocross has
obtained in the Okanagan Valley it was decided that the
series revert to it's traveling status again. This year
the 5 race series is being hosted in three locations
around BC. The first two events were held at the
Boundary Bay Airport. This event, the third in the
series was in Vernon. The fourth will be hosted at
Western Speedway in Victoria and the final event winds
up
at Boundary Bay.
Forty one local drivers from around the Okanagan came to
test their skills against what are typically the fastest
autocrossers in BC. The out of town series regulars
proved their skills against most of the new drivers that
comprise the two local clubs. One exception to the rule
was Kelowna's Shane Jensen driving his Harmony Honda
sponsored 1994 Honda Civic in the Street Modified class.
Shane is one of the few locals that travels to all the
large regional and national events in BC. Last year
Shane traveled to Red Deer Alberta for the Canadian
National Autoslalom Championships. Shane managed to top
125 drivers from five provinces and three states in a
competition that spanned two days, to become the
Canadian National Autoslalom Champion. This season Shane
has been very quick posting already posting the fastest
time of the day and the first Regional event. Sunday's
event proved to be no exception as he posted the fastest
time of the day beating out 62 other drivers.
The second fastest local driver was Matt Scaife in his

sponsored Mazda Miata. Matt had the ninth fastest time
of the event, which was only good enough for fourth in
the eight car class comprised mostly of Mazda Miata's.
Matt is the organizer and co-sponsor of the "TireTrends.com

Rounding out the top ten was Salmon Arm driver Dan
Williams in his
